Program areas at Community Ministry of Prince Georges County
P4VE Partnering for Vaccine Equity CMPGC supported by the CDC Foundation is implementing projects the focus on residents of two counties in North Carolina. CMPGC partners with African American churches and and community members as they engage,educate, and encourage their peers to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and influenza. CMPGC team members trained and supported their selected members as Community Health Advisors in conduction for their peers COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine awareness activities and educational sessions.
Health Education, Research, and Health Care Services Support - Led by the School of Public Health at Univ. of MD (UMD) a team is implementing evidence-based cancer education interventions in 14 African American churches in PG County and Baltimore. CMPGC also has a PG County preventive prostate cancer education, screening, and support program for African American men. Supported by the Maryland Center at Bowie Stae University, CMPGC also provides tobacco education and outreach to PG County communities.
Human Services - CMPGC listens to and offers referral or assistance to those seeking information and/or assistance to address a food, housing, utility or other crisis. It can provide small grants for payment of utilities and rent and up to $300 mortgage assistance. With the help of community partners it provides supermarket gift cards to 161 food insucure persons and distributes monthly 52,000 lbs of fresh produce to about 1,000 families.

Maryland Health Survey - With support of the University of MD Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, CMPGC and a Team conducted a cancer needs assessment covering a 10-county catchment area and received 500 responses which Comprehensive Cancer Center is using to adjust their research, education, and treatment focus.
