Program areas at Community of Hope Ministries
Camp good Hope is an exciting, fun-filled summer enrichment expience available for garner area youth who have finished the kindergarten year through sixth grade year. The camp operates from 7:30am to 6:00pm multiple weeks throughout the summer offering working parents an affordable option for supervised care. Camp good Hope is much, much more than childcare.
After school program - this program is an outstanding free afterschool enrichment for at-risk elementary aged students in grades 1-5. The program has a partnership with 8 different public elementary schools in garner nc
Food pantry: the Community of Hope food pantry offers a one week supply of nutritional assistance for food pantry clients and their family members. The food pantry has developed a database of over 1800 families.
Track out program provides safe, structured day camp activities for families whose children attend an area year-round school. Students track-out for 3 weeks at-a-time throughout the academic calendar year. This calendar is non-traditional and parents must have a safe place for children to stay while they work.
Carpenters hands - is a volunteer based home maintenance ministry aimed at serving the elderly, widowed and physically challenged. The program goal is to complete tasks and repairs for individual who are physically unable to complete the work themselves or who have a significant financial challenge preventing them from making a necessary repair in the home enviroment.
Crisis assistance - Community of hop offers limited assistance to families who need hlep meetin gthe obligation of necessary living expenses including but not limited to: utilities, morgage, transportation, and health related expenses. Assistance may be requested once during the calendar year.
Garden of Hope - a fenced in garden consisting of 30 raised bed used to teach after-shcool and camp students about growing food. The teaches them about the benefits of food to support themselves and other through food gathered for the food pantry. The garden supplies fresh produce for the food pantry 9 months of the year.
Job for life - is a 16 week job skill readiness course aimed at moving underemployed and unemployed individuals from handouts to a hand up. The program matches each student with a seasoned, volunteer corporate mentor who helps coach the student through the class. Subjects covered include: developing a personal vocational plan, resume preparation, interview skills, ethics in the workplace, the value of work, job search techniques, corporate etiquetts and more.
Remote learning - a program developed for children in this unusual year of covid. Children are taught and assisted with remote education while traditional school is not available to them.
