Program areas at Companion Animal Placement
In 2013, the Animal adoption numbers continued to decline. The organization was therefore able to devote more resources to the spaying and neutering of animals. Approximately 50 animals were placed directly into adoptive homes compared to 60 during 2012. The number of animals rescued, spayed, and neutered grew to about 650 compared to 600 during 2012. Most services were for cats which were returned to existing outside colonies.
In 2023, cap placed cats and dogs directly into adoptive homes. Cap has also rescued horses in puerto rico which receive care. Cap continues to assist in evacuating animals from puerto rico and placing them through cap or other rescues.
The adoption and neutering fee revenue is directly related to the organization's accomplishment of its exempt purpose of the prevention of cruelty to animals and the providing of food, shelter, training, and veterinary services to animals awaiting adoption. The revenue received allows the organization to continue to provide such services.
