The coalition to optimize the management of pain associated with surgery (Compas) aims to educate all those involved in pain management decisions about acute pain management strategies that minimize the need for opioids before, during and after surgery. We do this with both clinical and community outreach through educational initiatives which include public speaking, video, podcast, television and articles. Further, our website, www.compasfoundation.org, serves as a resource to those seeking options for reduction in the use of opioids before, during and after surgery.
