In 2020, Compete 360 worked with 57 student teams from high-poverty K-12 schools, helping teachers implement a design thinking curricula that supports students in learning and using critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills to address challenges such as: how to prepare students to manage their finances after graduation how to reduce vaping among teens how to address mental health needs of students during the school day how to help unhoused individuals meet their personal hygiene needs how to improve participation and interest in gym class how to provide a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ students at school how to encourage students to stay hydrated at school how to make the system of scanning in for lunch more efficient how to improve climate and conditions in the school lunchroom how to address the needs of students who learn at different paces
