Program areas at Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim
Cmpi is dedicated to the cultural enrighment of both the Pixan Ixim and wider omaha communities. These programs allow us to celebrate and showcase our culture, which builds confidence in our community, teaches our children the mayan worldview and traditions, and promotes cross-cultural advancement. This is done through advocacy and outreach.
To improve the health and well-being of mayan people through community development strategies in omaha, Nebraska and q'anjob'al Maya terrritory consistent with the q'anjob'al Maya system of social organization and the un declaration on the rights of indigenious people.
Cmpi is advancing indigenious human rights with various advocacy programs to assist those entering the country assimilate into the culture as well as legal assistance.
