Program areas at Comunidad y Herencia Cultural

Cultural Roots Program: Through Cultural Roots we offer cultural events, concerts, art, music, dance, and leather work workshops, charro and escaramuza performances and presentations, as well as charro and escaramuza attire exhibitions and guitar lessons and participation in parades. In 2024, we offered 16 presentations and performances in the community, 24 events in schools, participated in 8 parades throughout the state, we offered 8 events for Hispanic Heritage, we did 10 concerts, installed 5 Charro and escaramuza attire exhibitions, and we hosted 3 online events about the Charreria tradition reaching an approximate 1,245,000 people
Ask the Expert Program CyHC partnered with local government, organizations, and healthcare professionals to do outreach to the Latinx community to address health disparities and put on 9 informational events in Spanish to address physical and mental health with an approximate reach of 1,554,760 people. Expenditures went toward putting on the events and hiring experts to address community health needs within the families we serve.
