Program areas at Comunidad y Herencia Cultural

Cultrual Roots Program: Through Cultural Roots we offer cultural events,presentations about the Charreria tradition, rope trick performances, music and dance workshops and presentations,concerts, leather work workshops, and Charro and Escaramuza attire exhibitions. In 2023, we offered 25 presentations and performances in the community, 31 events in schools, participated in 8 parades throughout thestate, we offered 8 events for Hispanic Heritage, we did 2 concerts, installed 8 Charro and Escaramuza attire exhibitions, and we hosted 10 online events about the Charreria tradition reaching an approximate 2,500,000 people.
CyHC partnered with local government, organizations, and healthcare professionals to do outreach to the Latinx community to address health disparities and put on 8 informational events in Spanish to address physical and mental health with an approximate reach of 15,000 people. Expenditures went toward putting on the events, hiring experts to address community health questions, and creating public service advertisements.
