Program areas at Concerned Citizens for Animal Welfare of Volusia County
Spayed and neutered over 1500 dogs and cats in 2023 throuhout Volusia County through our low cost spay/neuter program for owned dogs and cat and our municipal funded trap/neuter/return (tnr) and return to field programs for cats.provided and funded tnr (trap/neuter/return) service to cat caregivers in municipalities who have restricted tnr programs that disqualify some cat caregivers from municipal funding. Our tnr and rtf (return to field) programs for cats resulted in an approxiamte 2500 reduction of cat intake and euthanasia at local Animal shelters, freeing up space for adoptable cats and dogs.
Fostered and found homes for over 600 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in 2023. Provided funding for pet owners whose pets had life threatening emergencies and couldn't afford vetenary services.
Held 24 low cost pet shot clinics that provided low cost vacciantions for pet owners sho can't afford to have their pets vaccinated against such deseases as rabies, distemper and kennel cough. Ccfaw also provided low cost testing for heartworm in dogs and feline leukemia in cats and provided low cost preventative products against fleas, heart- worm and internal parasites at the shot clinics throughout the year.
