Program areas at Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology
Conncat's bioscience training program has been designed to fulfill the market demand for trained professionals in laboratory operations. The program emphasizes bioscience skills while producing well-rounded professionals equipped to enter the fast-paced biotech and biopharmaceutical environments. As of october 2024, between four training cohorts, 52 applicants joined our pre-training academy, and 40 applicants officially enrolled in biolaunch training. The 20 participants of cohorts one and two have finished their training timelines; 15 of these participants successfully completed the training and graduation requirements. Twenty participants are currently in training as chohorts three and four. To date, 13 trainees have secured employment.
Across phlebotomy cohorts 25 and 26, a total of 21 students enrolled. Cohort 25 achieved a completion rate of sixty-three percent (63%), with seventy-one percent (71%) of its graduates now gainfully employed in the phlebotomy field.in cohort 26, 14 students enrolled, with nine students (64%) currently active in the program.
Across culinary cohorts 11 and 12, a total of 24 students enrolled. Seventy-nine percent (79%) of these students successfully completed the culinary Arts academy. for cohort 11, eighty-five percent (85%) secured and completed externship placements and are set to participate in the fall commencement ceremonies. Additionally, twenty-one percent (21%) of cohort 11 graduates have obtained employment in the culinary field.for cohort 12, seventy percent (70%) of students are currently assigned to externship sites, marking their transition into the program's hands-on phase. *cohort 13 is scheduled to begin on november 18, 2024, with 12 students enrolled. *
Additional training programs. The training time varies for each program. The graduation rate is 58% of those enrolled and 64% are employed who completed and graduated. In addition, the Center offers after-school and summer programs to local youths.
