Description
The Construction Careers Foundation increases the diversity of entrants to the construction trades and fosters long-term construction careers through various programs. The MN Trades Academy provides a paid summer construction internship experience for selected Twin City area high school youth. The Learn2Build program exposes middle school students to career possibilities in construction, and the foundation distributed over 500 activity kits to middle school youth in 2021. CCF partnered with 15 schools and youth-focused organizations to deliver educational opportunities.

Program areas at Construction Careers Foundation

Learn to build:ccf partners with schools and youth-focused community-based organizations to bring Construction to middle school youth through funa dn creative activities. Ccf continued the learn2build program, offering hands-on learning activities for middle school youth and hosted 6 camps and learning activities in 2022.
Mn trades academy:the mn trades academy (mta) is a paid summer Construction internship experience for selected twin city area high school youth. Mta aspires to provide rich educational and hands-on experiences for participants to earn while they learn about Construction as a career choice. In 2022, ccf hired 38 interns to be part of the mta program. Interns visited 13 jatcs, went to a total of 5 company/jobsite tours, received finance education, participated in mock interviews with potential employers, and each site completed a community project.
Helmets to hardhats:working in tandem with the national office, helmets to hardhats helps introduce military veterans to career opportunities in Construction. In 2022, 35 veterans were added to the mn helmaets to hardhats program. In addition, 6 veterans made a successful transition into the building trades and started their Careers.
Learn2build, other:the intention of the learn2build program is to expose middle school students to career possibilities in Construction. In 2021, ccf distributed over 500 activity kits to middle school youth. Ccf partnered with 15 schools and youth-focused community-based organizations to bring Construction to youth through fun and creative activities.
