Program areas at Construction Forum STL
The organization encourages the forging of relationships and the exchange of ideas in a communal setting by scheduling and organizing planned quarterly events. These events function as both networking and speaker events in order to bring the Construction industry and the greater community together to discuss current events and accomplishments in the local Construction landscape, cultivate forward-thinking industry ideas, and resolve tough issues like diversity, political divisions, contract environment, and labor problems. Since the organization does not have any members, there are no limitations as to who can participate in the Forum's programming. Construction Forum STL began hosting quarterly events in december 2013, with the events consistently being held in various venues around the st. louis metro area. The themes and speakers for the organization's events have focused on major industry projects in the area, as well as various diversity, labor, and economic issues affecting the industry and community. The organization also produces a biweekly newsletter that addresses recent activities and projects and how they affect the Construction industry in the st. louis area from a commercial and social standpoint. The purpose of this newsletter is to further the spread of vital industry-related knowledge and information to those in the community to further discussion. Anyone can join the mailing list for this newsletter free of charge.the organization operates and maintains a website, www.constructforstl.com. This website aggregates both original content and content from other sources to disseminate relevant information and build relationships within the local Construction industry. The website also includes a discussion platform that anyone is allowed to participate in, provided that they register for an account. The discussion platform allows the organization to provide a Forum for the community and industry members to further build relationships, discuss pressing issues, and cultivate ideas outside of the scheduled event structure. This website is strictly moderated by the organization to ensure that an unbiased environment is presented and no political or advocacy activity is promoted through the website. The organization plans to grow the scope of the website by including videos of the scheduled events, interviews, and special projects in the future.construction Forum STL is a "member-less organization that serves as a convener, collaboration builder, and communication channel, enabling public discourse and focused action on issues related to diversity/inclusion, workforce, regionalism, and collaboration. The organization has no agenda, save information and civil discourse, and so supports no political agendas, by intent. The organization has impacted areas as diverse as regional collaboration, opioids in the workforce, careers for youth and adults from at-risk backgrounds, and immigrants/refugees. It has received local and media coverage and awards for work in regionalism, diversity/inclusion, public policy, immigrants/refugees, and opioids in the workplace.
