Continental Divide Electric Cooperative provides quality and reliable electric service to its members, as well as superior energy and telecommunication services that enhance the daily lives of rural New Mexicans. To expand its offerings, the Cooperative created a separate cost center dedicated to providing broadband internet service through the construction of a fiber optic network. Additionally, they allocate patronage capital to provide electric energy to their 23,658 active services at year end.

Program areas at Continental Divide Electric Cooperative

Providing Electric energy to our members on a Cooperative basis through the allocation of patronage capital. There were 23,468 active services at year end.
A separate cost center of the Cooperative was created to provide broadband internet to its members through the construction of a fiber optic network. Broadband internet services will be provided to members on a patronage basis through the allocation of patronage capital to the extent net margins exceed cumulative losses for such cost center. At the end of 2023 there were 5,029 subscribers to internet services.
