Disaster Relief 2022 Cost: $12,000 We provide first response and long term disaster relief to the local community. This includes providing resources and advocacy particularly for people who would have fallen through the cracks; organizing community leadership meetings with various agencies; coordinating contractors, volunteers and community resources; helping match resources available to the people who need them most; providing transportation, evacuation support, and housing support; and buildingefficient resource lists to help make his process easier for everyone moving forward. Community Building Workshops 2022 Cost: $30,000 We offer free community workshops that teach essential skills while building community resilience and connection. We focus on cutting edge, ecological, creative building techniques using reclaimed, recycled materials. These buildings serve as an educational example as well as offer a unique natural experience to our guests. Community Rebuilding 2022 Cost: $2,600 We continue to help people pick up the pieces and find the support and resources needed to rebuild their homes and lives after the wildfires in 2020. We have built homes and provided free housing and RVs for fire survivors. We have mainly done this through community workshops, volunteer workdays and crowdfunding, thus offering the opportunity for the community to reconnect, support each other, and learn essential skills while providing housing for people in need. Farm program 2022 Cost: $88,000 We do regenerative work to preserve and restore this land and to produce and harvest healthy food, plant starts and seeds that we offer for free along with permaculture workshops and cooking classes to give our community the opportunity to eat and grow healthy food. Retreats 2022 Cost: $12,000 We provide free retreats and strategy planning sessions for those who are working on grassroots projects that are helping the planet and supporting humanitarian needs. In the fall of 2022, the COONGIE! Center hosted a retreat for a team of volunteer leaders to vision and plan for the future of the Siddha Maha Yoga organization. Siddha Maha Yoga is committed to connecting seekers with this spiritual practice and has hosted an in person meditation retreat and several online retreats completely free of charge, reaching over 1500 people and 57 countries in two years. Research Library 2022 Cost: $26,000 We are restoring the educational and relational research institute once known as The University of the Trees, an accredited California University started by the late Christopher Hills. We also steward the Kids Emotional Literacy project, which was started in the 1990s by alumni from The University of the Trees. We are honored to be the keepers of all of The University of the Trees Press original books, on topics focused on the evolution of human consciousness, connection, and healing. We share them freely and for free with our community and guests.Community Health, Cancer and End of Life Care and Advocacy 2022 Cost: $7,000 We provide end of life care to individuals and families and help with medical advocacy, resource applications, doctor's visits and access to alternative healing modalities.
