Program areas at Cornucopia Adult and Family Services
Cornucopias Services are designed to meet the individualized needs of our clients with the goal of maximizing each individual's potential to succeed to their varying abilities and interests. Cornucopia maintains a greenhouse specifically designed to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities and the elderly. The greenhouse provides an opportunity to learn and develop life skills, including cooperation with other, setting and working towards common goals, meetin responsibilities, decision-making, problem solving and the ability to follow complex instructions. Cornucopia provides supportive living Services in a residential program intended to increase and promote independence and to support individuals to live in the community in a setting of their own choice. Services assist and encourage individuals to grow and develop, to gain autonomy, to become self-governing, and to pursue their own interests and goals. Services are intended to provide the skills necessary to prepare individuals to eventually live on their own in a non-assisted setting. Cornucopia offers weekly educational classes for participants. Classes are designed to teach our clients a new skill or help them develop a current skill. Classes include topics such as art, music, dance, brain yoga, and cooking.
