Expanding the use of competencies. Csw works with partners to use analytic tools to increase the use of competencies to improve labor market mobility for workers, improve quality hiring and advancement within companies, and ensure understandable outcomes from educational programs and increased alignment of those programs with job requirements. Goal is to increase use of competencies as "common language/currency" among learners/workers, educators, and employers.
Increasing the capacity of Workforce practitioners and organizations to tackle challenging issues. Csw manages learning networks and academies that build the skills and knowledge of Workforce practitioners centered on policy and practice strategies and levers for systemic change. Csw hosts the Workforce benchmarking network, which provides community-based Workforce organizations across the united states support in using data to more effectively manage programs and community strategies.
Increasing economic opportunity and mobility through community Workforce strategies. Csw works with change makers to document racial and socio-economic gaps in mobility; develops workforce-related strategies, actions, and partnerships focused on overcoming those gaps; and evaluates the results of relevant initiatives.
Advance workplaces and workforces that are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, resilience-building, and supportive of mental health and well-being. Csw works with funders, agencies, organizations, and employers to develop strategies for advancing trauma-informed and resilience-building approaches in their organizations and in the fields of Workforce development, adult education, nonprofit employment and training, and related sectors.
Access to findings on outcomes and best practices to help Workforce development leaders, practitioners, educators and other community stakeholders make better decisions about how to serve customers and invest limited resources. Csw provides quality research and evaluation through data collection, analysis, and reporting that is culturally responsive and embeds A racial equity and inclusion lens, is ethical, grounded in current best practices, and designed and conducted by staff with Workforce development, education, and social service experience.
