Program areas at Council of American Ambassadors
Bi-annual conferences: meetings that provide a forum for the discussionof salient issues of the day with the leadership of the administrationand representatives of the foreign affairs community.
Fellowships (international affairs and public diplomacy) - these programs combine mentoring by former Ambassadors, practical training and academic study to develop young leaders in international affairs and public diplomacy.
Publications and podcasts - the Council publishes a foreign affairs journal, 'the Ambassadors review,' administers 'Ambassadors perspectives,' an on-line forum for foreign affairs commentary, and issues reports on conferences and international missions to promote an informed citizenry. The Council also hosts the podcast series, "caa live!"
Ambassadors roundtable - this program enables Council members to engage in off-the record dialogues with chiefs of mission accredited to the white house.
International missions - the Council sponsors an international mission program to conduct on-the-spot investigations of national and/or regional conditions.
Ambassadors orientation - orientation sessions that enable newly appointed non-career Ambassadors and their spouses to meet, hear from, and share experiences with those who preceded them in the field.
Ambassadors forum - a series of lectures/dialogues in cities around the country that foster a greater understanding of foreign policy issues.
