Program areas at Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics
The Council sponsors an annual meeting to provide a setting in which individuals facing similar challenges and problems can come together and meet with each other both formally and informally. The group regularly considers issues related to patient care, research, Education, management and finance.
The Council annually awards grants for support of innovative Education proposals. The Council also honors current and former members who have made substantial contributions in the areas of research/scholarship, teaching/education, and clerkship administration, as well as honoring those who have made significant contributions and achievements which impact the organization and members.
The Council provides convenient electronic services to its members such as listserves, website access, annual surveys, online registrations and dues renewal, electronic balloting, online directory, publications, notifications of upcoming events and opportunities and meeting materials.
The Council supports various organizations to promote excellence in undergraduate and graduate Medical Education; to support and advocate for maximum health outcomes of children; to enhance the leadership and management skills of its members; to foster excellence and innovation in clinical care for children and in research and Education in human development and child's health; and to support the pediatric community in general.
The Council's coach certificate program is an interactive course based on the competencies of the international federation of coaches, providing Medical educators the skills and resources necessary to effectively coach their learners and peers.
The leadership for the Council meets periodically to discuss the Council's activities.
