Program areas at CEAO
The CEAO administers the County Local Bridge and Surface Transportation programs and the County Highway Safety Improvement program under contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). This involves evaluating and prioritizing projects and recommending those projects to ODOT for funding. CEAO monitors the projects including approving cost increases, scope changes, change orders, emergency projects and safety studies.
Provides resources, assistance, training, professional leadership, and a vehicle for interaction for county engineers and their staff to assist them in providing better service to the public. Members receive publications, including the Annual Engineers Roster, as well as various other information via the website. To cooperate with governmental agencies, federal, state and local, and other organizations in developing, promoting and maintaining practical, efficient and financially sound administration of county government. To devise, promote and maintain workable legislation relating to the administration of county government and issue special bulletins about critical state and national legislative matters.
To raise the technical and non-technical standards of service rendered to the general public, by the County Engineer and his employees, by establishing a central point for reference and group discussions of mutual problems. Provides conferences, seminars and workshops to members on selected subjects relating to engineering concerns and local transportation systems.
