Description
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Jefferson County recruits, trains, and supervises adult volunteers appointed by a juvenile court judge to speak for the best interest of abused, neglected, or abandoned children who are dependents of the juvenile court. With a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in foster care. Despite having just over 700 kids in CPS custody in Jefferson County, our program had CASA volunteers assigned to 179 children in 2017 and continues to grow each year.
