Program areas at Covington Louisiana Actors Playhouse System
Conduct performing arts performances and provide performance opportunities for students, while introducing them to realistic career opportunities in the performing arts for both college-bound and non-college-bound students.
Provide assistance to students for honor choir and other music and theatre related participation, in addition to access to educational conferences in the performing arts field.
The Covington Louisiana Actors Playhouse provides students, at no cost to them, the opportunity to learn from professional artists with formal education and professional experience ranging from the stage to film and grand opera to television. In addition, we provide realistic career opportunities for both college-bound and non-college-bound students. We accomplish this in part through performances given by students during the claps summer program and in coordination with Covington high school during the school year. The program service revenue comes entirely from ticket sales for these performances.
