Program areas at Craftmen's Guild of Mississippi
Education - enhanced Mississippian's understanding and appreciation of crafts by presenting educational programs and demostrations for the public. More than 200 demonstrations were given during the past year and classes are held every week at the center.
Economic development - the Guild promoted economic development in the area of fine crafts. It is estimated that in excess of $9 million annually will be spent in hotels, restaurants, attractions, and retail sales in Mississippi because of the center. During the past year, visitors came from all 50 u.s. states and various foreign countries to the center.
Marketing and retail - the Guild supported local craftsmen through their gallery which sells and displays the work of its members. The Guild holds the chimneyville crafts festival which was named a top 20 event in the southeast tourism society.
