Description
Critter Barn inspires people of all ages and abilities through the wonders of nature found on our educational farm. Our programming budget accounts for 76% of our total expenses. We offer classes for different age levels, school field trips, seasonal programming, and train our students to share their knowledge with visitors. Children and youth volunteer at Critter Barn to help further their learning experiences.

Program areas at Critter Barn

Our programming budget is 69.4% of our total expenses. Children are taught at the farm in classes for different age-levels, school field trips, and seasonal programming. We train our students to share what they know with our visitors. Children and youth volunteer to care for the animals and enhance visitor experiences. In 2022, 256 children attended Critter camp, which is a prerequisite to the volunteer program, Critter crew, and 1,052 children enrolled in other summer and year-round classes. In 2022, 4,410 children attended school field trips, and an estimated 80,653 people attended traveling farm events. Our barnyard crew program serves people with disabilities. The program had 10 children and youth, plus 19 adults volunteer weekly in 2022. 200+ adults volunteered through court directed community service in 2022. The Critter Barn has been serving the public since 1990.
