Assistance to collies who need homes including providing a temporary foster home, needed veterinary and other care and placement in a New permanent home. During this fiscal year, we started with 11 collies in our care. We took in an additional 14 collies and found New homes for 19 of them. 1 Collie died of serious illness during this fiscal year after being lovingly cared for in a foster home. 5 collies remained in our foster care network at may 31, 2023. Our amazing volunteer foster homes take care of the collies entrusted to us and get them ready for their 'fur'ever homes.
During this fiscal year, we donated $5,000 to Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue (another charitable organization). They were assisting with a large seizure of collies in Illinois. Many rescues and Collie clubs provided financial assistance to us when we were involved in several animal welfare seizures in 2019 and 2020 and we wanted to support them in this work.
Mailing or emailing a newsletter to members providing general information about collies, upcoming events and activities, encouraging adoptions of collies, recruitment of volunteer foster homes, recruitment of other volunteers and providing information on how to make donations. We share adoption stories and provide information on how we do what we do as well as helpful articles on medical or behavioral issues.
