StewardshipOUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY IS EVIDENT IN OUR EFFORTS TO RECOVER PESTICIDECONTAINERS. WE'VE PROMOTED THE CUIDAGROSM (RESPONSIBLE USE) AND CAMPOLIMPIOSM(CONTAINER MANAGEMENT) PROGRAMS IN 18 COUNTRIES ACROSS THE REGION IN PARTNERSHIP WITHOUR 27 AFFILIATED NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS. IN 2023, THROUGH OUR PROPOSAL CALL, WEDISBURSED FUNDS TO SOME OF THESE ASSOCIATIONS TO CO-FINANCE PROJECTS WITHIN THEPROGRAMS. OUR NETWORK HAS INVESTED OVER $1.783 MILLION IN CUIDAGRO, BENEFITING264.989 INDIVIDUALS IN 2023. THIS INVESTMENT HAS ALLOWED US TO RECOVER OVER 81.127TONS OF EMPTY, USED, AND TRIPLE-RINSED PESTICIDE CONTAINERS FOR PROPER DISPOSALRECYCLING, OR ENERGY RECOVERY, DEMONSTRATING OUR COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTALSTEWARDSHIP IN 2023.
Regulatorythe central american region is one of our subdivisions (andean and southern cone) forlatin America; our director there works in collaboration with the nationalassociations in each of the 5 countries to support them to better represent theindustry. We worked in the same areas as in the rest of the region, namely, tosupport and make more visible the stewardship programs, "cuidagro and "campolimpio",and to improve the public and stakeholders understanding of the contributions made byour industry. In addition, the regional director supported local authorities withtraining and start of the art technologies on the technicalities of our industry sothey could be more effective in their role to regulate it.
Public relations and communicationscroplife Latin America has continued its mission to inform society about the benefitsof innovation and technology invested by the plant science industry in products usedfor food and fiber production. We achieve this through our presentations at numerousevents, extensive social media publications, and our website, www.croplifela.org. In2023, we held our annual meeting in panama, attended by representatives from ournetwork of national associations across 18 Latin american countries and companyrepresentatives. We also emphasized our anti-counterfeiting and good agriculturalpractices campaigns.
