Program areas at Crossroads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center
Crossroads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center exists to provide support for adult and child victims of Sexual Assault and human trafficking. Started in 1976 as alamance rape crisis alliance, victims continue to be served by the 24\7 crisis line that was initiated as the core services provided by the initial all-volunteer agency. Paid advocates and court accompaniment services were added later, and continue today, to provide much-needed assistance to victims as they process the paths of healing and as some navigate the arduous legal system.in 1996 the Center became a nationally accredited children's advocacy Center and now houses the multidisciplinary team meetings of professionals involved in child maltreatment and endangerment cases. Crossroads currently serves both alamance and caswell counties. Forensic interviews and child medical exams are also provided at the Center. Our child advocacy and Sexual Assault trauma Response teams provide ongoing support, advocacy, evidence-based child therapy, and companion services to victims and their non-offending family/friends. Education and outreach into the schools and community is conducted by staff and volunteers to promote awareness and understanding of the complex issues surrounding Sexual Assault and how and where to access services, if needed.
