Program areas at Crosstown Radio Partnership

In 2023, Crosstown Radio Partnership operated its fcc-licensed, noncommercial fm Radio station, wyxr. The station broadcasts a wide range of musical, cultural, and public interest programming. This includes talk programs focusing on how faith informs our perspectives and unites people from various backgrounds, as well as deep musical dives into the forgotten figures of memphis hip-hop, punk, blues, and jazz history and their lasting impact on the american musical landscape. Our volunteer dj roster has expanded to over 100 individuals, each contributing to our 24/7 on-air programming. This growth has allowed us to offer a diverse range of shows and perspectives, enriching our station's content. In terms of community engagement, our stereo sessions have been a regular feature for three years, providing in-depth analysis of lesser-known artists and fostering dialogue with our audience. Alongside this, we hosted our second raised by sound fest, featuring a sold-out fundraising show and a free community concert, furthering our commitment to local music and culture. Fundraising efforts have been robust, with several pledge drives surpassing our goals through listener donations, membership pledges, and sponsorships from local businesses.
