Program areas at Culver City Symphony Orchestra Marina del Rey Summer Symphony

SoCal Symphony Society presents the Culver City Symphony Orchestra's annual winter concert season. We reopened in June 2022 and, during 2022-23 the Orchestra presented 4 concerts in Culver City, featuring symphonic music and concertos from the 18th Century through to contemporary works. The Orchestra has a long history of performing works by diverse and underserved groups and music of local composers, and our 2022-23 season included a concert of works by women composers. Our final concert of the winter season featured three works by local composers. We support aspiring young musicians from pre-teen to age twenty-five through the Orchestra-sponsored Parness Concerto Competition. Winners perform as soloists with the orchestra and, during 2022-23 we featured the winners of the 2019 competition. In the summer, as the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, we are the resident orchestra of the Marina Summer Concerts presented in conjunction with Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors. We reopened in July 2022 with a shortened 2-concert season. We were once again voted the Best Live Music Event in The Argonaut's Best of the Westside reader poll.
