Culver Palms Meals on Wheels

The organization serves meals five days per week to persons confined to their homes because of illness, accident, or aging who cannot cook or shop for themselves. Weekend meals are available for those who need them. Volunteers deliver the meals using their automobiles, gas, and insurance. The volunteers provided approximately 9,896 service hours to help our three part-time employees run this program. The organization served 34,544 meals this fiscal year, benefiting over 300 people. The Wellness Call program, run by volunteers, launched in 2021, continues to grow as more individuals receive weekly supportive telephone calls to prevent feelings of isolation due to loneliness. Over 101 emergency food packages and over 1,400 fresh vegetables and fruit packages were delivered to participants. Close to 3,000 cards and over 1,000 donated gifts (for birthdays and holidays) were also sent to participants.
