Child Nutrition Programs: Food Fuels Learning Initiative served approximately 13,000 Portland, South Portland and Westbrook Public School students & community to improve student health and academic performance while establishing best practices being shared with and implemented in other districts including farm to school.
Racial/Economic Justice: Presenting Racial Wealth Gap Learning Simulation. Convening partners, commmunity organizing and education to address the disparate health and economic outcomes for people of color, especially impacts of poverty, food insecurity and hunger.
Local Food Access: Cumberland County Gleaning Initiative mobilized over 100 volunteers to harvest fresh produce donated by 26 farmers resulting in over 10 tons of food distributed through 27 partners to approximately 18,000 people. Closing the Hunger Gap with Local Food quantifies the local food strategically used to build nutrition security in our communities.
