Child Nutrition Programs: Food Fuels Learning Initiative served approximately 6,800 Portland School students & community to improve student health and academic performance while establishing best practices being shared with and implemented in other districts including farm to school.
Racial/Economic Justice: Presenting Racial Wealth Gap Learning Simulation. Convening partners, commmunity organizing and education to address the disparate health and economic outcomes for people of color, especially impacts of poverty, food insecurity and hunger.
Local Food Access: 1. Cumberland County Gleaning Initiative mobilizes volunteers to harvest fresh produce donated by farmers resulting in almost seven tons distributed to approximately 13,000 people. Closing the Hunger Gap with Local Food promotes local food as central to solving hunger in Maine.
