Program areas at Dallas Bethlehem Center

In 2022, Dallas Bethlehem Center (DBC) celebrated 76 years of service. At the core of its efforts is its partnership with working parents, helping them build a secure future for their children. Through a partnership with ChildCareGroup, DBC provides an Early Head Start program for children ages 0-3 years old. This program focuses largely on language development, which is designed to increase reading readiness and prepare low-income children for kindergarten. DBC augments this robust initiative with a focus on life skills and academic enrichment activities through its summer day camp for children ages 6-12 years old. Although developmental programming within a safe and nurturing environment has measurable impact, DBC also recognizes that this impact can be significantly diminished when food scarcity is pervasive in the home. With the help of community volunteers, DBC distributed nutritious groceries to approximately 280 households per month through its weekly food distribution program. We hosted an After-School program as well. Dallas Bethlehem Center is a community center, and as such, it thrives on the efforts and goodwill of volunteers from the neighborhood and beyond. More than 50 adult volunteers dedicated their time participating in the daily running of community programs, including DBC's four major annual events.
