Events and exhibitions: see schedule oevents and exhibitions: a non-collecting kunsthalle-style art space, Dallas Contemporary is a museum that has the privilege of presenting the vanguard of Contemporary artistic practice and artistic production through exhibitions, performances, and public programs, which are all equally part of our curatorial mission. During 2022, Dallas Contemporary engaged 12,000+ visitors through 7 major exhibitions. Our spring exhibition program featured solo presentations by joseph havel, lonnie holley, borna sammak and natalie wadlington. In the fall we welcomed exhibitions from american artist shepard fairey with a show called "backward forward," which tackles the social justice issues that continue to affect our nation, from gun violence to the pursuit of civil rights, as well as gabrielle goliath's work "chorus," a profoundly moving video installation that mourns the lives lost to femicide in the artist's native south africa.
Education and membership: Dallas Contemporary's education and membership initiatives provide opportunities for the community to learn about and experience the world of Contemporary art firsthand. There are multiple levels or membership and a wide variety of educational activities to choose from. Members are provided with exclusive opportunities such as access to attend exhibition previews visits with local and international artists, and social events hosted by dc. The education offerings include chit chat sessions for attendees to engage directly with Contemporary artists, school and public tours, summer youth programs, and writing and drawing sessions hosted by local artists
