The ronald mcdonald house of Dallas is the only organization that provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury at a Dallas area hospital. In an effort to lesson the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact, and enhance the quality of life for these familits, the rmhd provides afforable housing in a caring home-like atmosphere.
Hope's door new beginning center is a full-service shelter and counseling center that offers comprehensive programs designed to help break the cycle of domestic abuse. It provides direct intervention and prevention services free of charge to families affected by domestic violence in collin county and surrounding areas. Programs and services include emergency shelter, 24 -hour crisis hotline, individual and group counseling, and community education programs. Dsf volunteers provide weekly dinner for the families in counseling and support special projects as they arise.
The ebby house of juliette fowler communities is more than a shelter. It is a home for young women who have suffered abuse or neglect or who have been in foster care. These women need additional assistance before they are ready to launch into successful adulthood. This strength-based program mentors up to 12 young women at a time for up to 24 months to instill life skills, provide housing, healthcare, education, career guidance, job training, and skills to live independently. The house is under the supervision of the program director and a full-time live-in house manager.
