Program areas at DRC

Economic development, innovation & research: the drc supports the region's economic growth by identifying, recruiting, and assisting new companies to relocate to the region and become engaged in the regions business community and activities as well as helping the companies in the region grow and expand. During the year several companies, including corporate headquarters, relocated or expanded in the Dallas region.
Education, workforce & talent attraction: the drc continues to manage and facilitate programs in the region that support the workforce and talent requirements for business, with a goal to increase the number of people who earn a living wage. During the year, the drc continued with its partners developing and executing the Dallas thrives program to support young adult workers, particularly in information technology and healthcare careers.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: The DRC, working with the business community manages and facilitates several activities in under championed communities, attempting to expand the economic development in these areas. During the year, the DRC funded and executed several projects such as maintaining and enhancing the Southern Dallas County website, providing organized tours and trips to Southern Dallas County with members of the business community, and working with the business community to survey and advance their work in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement. DRC also supported The Dreams Experience and the Latino Culinary Institute designed to nurture untapped talent of under championed communities that have limited access to creative art and technology programs, as well as support those with an interest in culinary art.
Other service programs: these include drc membership which consists of over 600 paying members, as well as programs in the areas of leadership, public policy, talent attraction, innovation & research, diversity, equity & inclusion and event related activities.
