Damascus Community School

The intent of the board of directors of the School (board) has always been to purchase land and build a School facility of its own. Prior to its closure, the School identified several potential School locations in the Damascus suburbs and began saving the estimated ten million dollars necessary to acquire land and construct a new School facility. Due to the current state of affairs in syria, the cost to purchase land and build a School facility of its own is unknown. However, the board has agreed to seek permission from the internal revenue service to create a set-aside fund and continue saving the funds necessary to build a School facility once peace and stability return to syria

Damascus Community School, inc.(school) offered an accredited college preparatory institutional program from pre-school through grade 12 leading to an american high School diploma. The School was located on the grounds of the united states embassy in Damascus, syria. Its primary mission was to educate american diplomatic and business dependents living in Damascus and its suburbs from the international, diplomatic and business communities.due to the violence and extremely dangerous conditions in syria, the School was forced to temporarily close on january 26, 2012 and eventually forced to close permanently on august 31, 2019. Since then the only expenses were the required payments to former employees.
