Description
Our mission, in partnership with the dmc children's hospital of Michigan, is to use a yoga-based approach with kids to promote optimum health in mind, body and spirit - reducing anxiety, preventing childhood obesity and increaing self-esteem. Danialle Karmanos' Work It Out is a yoga and nutrition based program dedicated to preventing childhood obesity. Our mission, in partnership with the dmc children's hospital of Michigan, is to use a yoga-based approach with kids to promote optimum health in mind, body and spirit - reducing anxiety, preventing childhood obesity and increasing self-esteem.

Program areas at Danialle Karmanos' Work It Out

Danialle Karmanos' Work It Out combats childhood obesity by providing 10-week yoga and nutrition programs offered in elementary schools in fall and winter. A six-week summer program is also offered for elementary-age children in schools and community centers. Each session includes a nutrition lesson paired with a 30-minute yoga practice. Each student receives weekly health-related handouts, a 60-page workbook, and a yoga mat upon completion. 594 sessions were offered at 37 locations, serving approximately 1,868 children ages 7-12.
