Program areas at Davis Phinney Foundation
The Davis Phinney Foundation provides a variety of online content including live, recorded, and printed tools and resource materials. Each month, we host live webinars that cover topics critical to helping people live well with parkinson's. In addition to these live webinars, we produce recorded content on a monthly basis and have an extensive and growing library of videos for on-demand viewing. Our blog series provides regular updates on what is happening with research, medication, exercise, nutrition, and more all related to quality of life with parkinson's.
The healthy parkinson's communities initiative of the Davis Phinney Foundation works with grassroots advocates to help inspire and support change at the community level and helps people live well with parkinson's. The Foundation provides staff support, educational resources, print materials, mentorship, and learning/convening opportunities for the individuals and organizations participating in this initiative. In addition, the initiative includes a community grants program which funds local initiatives with a focus on access, awareness, health literacy, and new and ongoing programs that help people live well with parkinson's.
The Davis Phinney Foundation ambassadors share our resources and information throughout their local and regional communities to help people take action and improve their quality of life with parkinson's. Our ambassadors are advocates for living well and are available to discuss tools and strategies for improving quality of life with support groups, individuals, families and healthcare professionals. Ambassadors speak on the subject of wellness at local parkinson's events and support groups, and they also meet one-on-one with individuals and families.
The Foundation also has serveral smaller programs including community partnerships.
