The mission of the Decatur Education Foundation is to solve the problems that HELP Decatur's kids find success by connecting people, resources, and ideas. Central to this work is a commitment to eradicating barriers caused by systemic racism, income inequality, and the lack of behavioral health supports.THE ORGANIZATION SERVES THE YOUTH OF DECATUR BY:- removing obstacles that impede learning for our kids (poverty, learning differences, abilities, mental health, life challenges) so that all our kids can find success in school and life- providing opportunities that accelerate and deepen learning and empower Decaturs kids to make a positive contribution on our world (arts, leadership, service)- supporting teachers and educational programs to ensure that our kids have engaging, meaningful classroom experiences - strengthening community programs to extend our capacity to provide great experiences for Decaturs kidsbecause with the support of their community, every child can reach their full potential
