Greening fund:greening fund - the dch is committed to promoting urban agriculture in cities and towns throughout Delaware. Dch works at the grassroots level to address social, economic, educational, and environmental issues, and help to create healthy and sustainable communities. Dch projects include community gardens, container plantings, institutional gardens, school gardens and urban farms.tree program - the dch partners with local, state, and federal organizations to promote the many benefits of urban trees and encourages active community participation in city tree care. This program inventories city trees and aids in the development of a comprehensive management plan for our urban forest. Since 1977, the dch has assisted neighborhoods in the planting and maintaining of over 15,000 trees on wilmington streets.public landscapes - creating beautiful, sustainable, and captivating public spaces. Partnering with numerous local entities including individual community members, public agencies, and regional businesses to utilize our expertise in landscape design and implementation benefitting the most challenging urban grow zones. The dch provides appealing plantings that boldly meet the challenges of urban and suburban life. These plantings infuse the cityscape and park system with a unique beauty and character.
Education - providing public lectures, workshops, trips and tours to learn about the latest garden trends and touring breathtaking gardens. Dch also takes its classes inside prison walls to inspire inmates towards green and healthy futures, as well as helping previously incarcerated men and women return to work by providing them with the skills needed to be successful employees in the green industry.
