Accompaniment services to victims of sexual violence and other crimes1,115 new victims of crime were served by our agency during the year, plus an additional 2,755 clients whose services continued from the previous year. More than 8,800 discrete services were provided to these 3,870 people. About 30% of clients were minor children. Services included accompaniment through the medical, law enforcement, and criminal justice systems; counseling, referrals to various community resources; financial Assistance with housing and other needs; Assistance with the state victims compensation program; and ongoing information about the criminal justice process. (continued on schedule o)civil legal representation of crime victims166 clients, all victims of crime referred by direct services staff of the agency, received civil legal representation from in-staff attorneys. Services included Assistance with procuring protection from abuse orders, advocating for victims during trials of perpetrators, representation in various family law matters such as child custody and divorce, and guardianship ad litem.rape prevention education1,027 educational programs were presented by the educators and assistant executive director, with Assistance of other staff, to classrooms in grades kindergarten-twelfth in every school district in Delaware County, university students and staff, and other community groups. More than 10,000 individuals received instruction in respect for oneself and others, healthy relationships, staying cyber-safe, legal definitions and consequences of different forms of sexual violence, helping others in situations of bullying and harassment, and our own agency services.
