Program areas at Delaware Psychological Association
The DPA traditionally operates by hosting continuing education workshops for members and non-members who are psychologists and other licensed mental health clinicians. In 2023, the DPA offered 14 continuing education (CE) workshops totaling 39.5 CE credits. Out of the 14 CE workshops, 5 of them were specifically psychoeducational trainings for licensed clinicians to enhance their skills and understanding of the traumatic effects pertaining to COVID.
The Delaware Psychological Association (DPA) has enjoyed tremendous growth and success over the past several years. Since 2017, overall membership in the DPA has grown with an increase of 63%. DPA also offers Institutional Memberships for groups of 8 or more psychologists, licensed clinicians and nurse practitioners.
The DPA was awarded the second of three installments in 2023 by the American Rescue Plan Act to support psychologists, licensed mental health clinicians and healthcare providers with trainings specific to COVID related trauma, including assessment, treatment and prevention planning. This funding will continue be used to support the public with psychoeducational resources pertaining to COVID related trauma and long COVID in 2024.
