Program areas at Delaware Zoological Society
The brandywine zoo's vision is to inspire awe and action for wildlife and our education department's programming is central to that vision - in addition to great weather (especially on summer and fall weekends, we ran some outstanding educational programming events in 2023 including mighty monarch days, pride day and earth day. Our special events continued to be very successful in 2023. Our brew at the zoo, sip & stroll "after hours" events continue to generate significant fundraising income. Our day-time special events (boo at the zoo, santa at the zoo, noon year's eve) continue to bring in record crowds.
Conservation grants to support the brandywine zoo's mission to protect species and their habitats in Delaware and around the world.
Visitor services: including admissions to the zoo, gift shop and food concession - in 2023, we saw our attendance increase 12% over 2022 and 11% over the previous three-year average. Being an outdoor venue, we are very weather dependent and we were quite fortunate in 2023, weather-wise.
