Denver Earth Resources Library

The Library's collections include unique subsurface data, plus historic and artful maps. The data is used by geoscientists pursuing exploration ideas and researchers associated with museums and universities and by the public. The data is used to publish new understandings of the subsurface and geologic history of the earth. We engage the public in curating and viewing our collections through events (Map Mondays and Data & Drinks). Library staff actively curate new donations and work to organize the data for public use. We also received over ten research requests for data only available in our Library. Volunteers contribute to scientific knowledge through analysis and organization of data.

In 2021, the Library opened its doors to serve as a coworking space and idea incubator for new projects, including geothermal and data analytics. A community space has been added that includes a large classroom and assembling room. The Library offers working space and rentals for classes and seminars to other organizations at a discounted rate.
