Program areas at Denver Inner City Parish

The Denver Inner City Parish provides general program services to the community which include, but are not limited to, operating one of Denver's longest running food pantry, community programs that focus on servicing local seniors to prevent social isolation and other risk factors for seniors, and providing resources through management of a community resource center. Resource navigation services are provided to assist community members in accessing needed services.
The Steve Johnsen Scholarship program hands out scholarships to youth that have been participants of DICP programs and to former school program students (La Academia). The school shut down in 2018. Through an endowment from the sale of the school building, scholarship recipients receive funds to further their higher education goals. Plans for the program this are to bolster the program to include a fellowship program, internships, and youth employment.
Our Veggie Rx program which provides health and nutrition education to families and children has evolved to include after-school and summer day camp programming. This is in response to community feed-back and demand from parents who are in need of a summer camp option and after school programs in their community
