Program areas at Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus
Our 23rd season saw us grow to 110 singers, performing before more than 21,000 people over three concerts and other performances. A concert of Kelly Clarkson songs brought us national attention on her TV show. We sang the world premieres of two pieces we commissioned.
We hosted the 2nd annual Youth Festival Chorus. This event combined our singers, the youth singers, and allies from around central Iowa for a day of making music together and discussiosns of LGBTQ issues in Iowa. The festival ended with a performance of several songs the groups had spend the day preparing.
