Design Impact

We incubate projects that transform communities. The madisonville community studio project looks at the role race plays in neighborhood development and how it affects residents. The project seeks to lift up the voices of madisonville residents most impacted by neighborhood development to understand the connection between race and neighborhood development. By listening to residents and business owners most impacted, this project will continue to evolve as residents help inform and lead the direction of the project.

We also work to advance methods of creative community change. We do this through small, one day or less workshops all over the country. We also reflected on our work and the patterns we noticed to create a report called metathemes. Metathemes is a research report that presents a collection of common social equity themes and targeted approaches to addressing themes that organizations across the spectrum of social Impact can modify and implement.

We equip leaders with human-centered Design and ethnographic research tools. An example of an equip project is our partnership with feeding america where we supported four project teams across the country as they test and implement prototypes of innovative new hunger initiatives.
