Program areas at DEAP

Supported Living (0208 Medicaid Waiver) services are aimed at building independent living skills to adults with developmental disabilities living in their own home or with their family across southeastern Montana. The result of these services are individuals who are actively contributing to their communities and relying on less services over time. DEAP considers serving all individuals with 0208 Medicaid Waiver funding that choose DEAP as their service provider. This program is supplemented with fundraising efforts.
DEAP administers the Lifespan Respite and Alzheimer's Respite programs throughout Montana. Respite programs are evidence based to prevent child and elder abuse by giving constant caregivers a break from their loved one that they care for 24/7/365. These services are based on income and all who are asking for it are currently being served. Funding is provided through federal grants, partnerships with aging services and fundraising efforts.
The Early Intervention (Part C/Family Education and Support and Occupational Therapy) program provides service coordination, education and coaching to families with a child who has an assessed developmental delay. The result of Early Intervention services is children who need less specialized support and families who have the capacity to advocate for their child throughout their lives. Part C is an entitlement program and both Part C and FES are funded through Federal and State funding and supplemented with fundraising efforts. Services are delivered in home across 17 eastern Montana counties.
Reunification services provide coaching to individual families who are working with Child Protective services to better the situation for their children. Building capacity in parenting and living skills is the result of this program delivered through State and Federal funding and the use of donated funds. Services are provided in homes, communities and offices across southeastern Montana. Independent Living services are provided to foster youth venturing into adulthood. This service coaches youth ages 14-21 on how to balance a budget, apply to a college or trade school, buy a car, rent and furnish an apartment and handle emergencies that may come up. The result of this work are community members who are stronger and more empowered to make better choices than the generation before them. This program is delivered throughout eastern Montana with funding from federal and state grants as well as donated funds.
Autism Services provide the evidence based model of Applied Behavior Analysis to children diagnosed with Autism. The result of this service is children who are better able to communicate and engage in the world around them. This program is limited to the number of children served based on the licensing requirements of the Board Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA); there is a waitlist for this program which is funded through private and public insurance billing and fundraising efforts. Services are provided in homes, schools and offices across southeastern Montana.
PASRR services are provided to individuals with disabilities living in nursing homes to help them integrate and be successful in a congregate living environment not staffed and created to serve people that need a little extra support understanding, engaging and being independent. DEAP is able to serve all eligible individuals eligible for this program through Federal and State funding throughout the Eastern region of Montana.
