Program areas at Together Women Rise

Together Women Rise champions gender equality because Women's rights are human rights. When Women and girls are treated equally, the world is healthier, safer, more peaceful, inclusive, and economically just for everyone. We have hundreds of local chapters across the u.s. where members learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, give grants to organizations that empower Women and girls in low-income countries, and build community to forge meaningful connections that increase our strength and collective impact. Together Women Rise consists of approximately 400 chapters with 5,300 members. Members gather monthly to learn about and advocate for gender equality issues and the organizations that empower Women and girls in low- income countries that we collectively support. Current year projects include: arogya world is a us-based global health non-profit organization working to prevent non-communicable diseases (ncds), through health education and lifestyle change. Our mission is reflected in our very name arogya in sanskrit means to live a life without disease. Children of vietnam lifts children out of poverty by eliminating barriers to fulfilling their potential through wraparound services that focus on one child, one family, one community at a time. Educate2envision brings secondary school and leadership training to rural poor communities across honduras.equality now's mission is to achieve legal and systematic change that addresses violence and discrimination against Women and girls around the world. A transformation partner with Together Women Rise, equimundo: center for masculinities and social justice (formerly promundo-us) works to promote gender equality and create a world free from violence by engaging men and boys in partnership with Women, girls, and individuals of all gender identities. Girl rising is working to create a world where all girls learn, Rise, and thrive. Growth through learning (gtl) is a secular organization that supports education and development in east africa by providing full secondary education scholarships for exceptional young Women in kenya, uganda, and tanzania who would otherwise be unable to afford an education beyond primary school. Gtl encourages cross-cultural exchange of information and ideas, especially promoting womens empowerment in east africa. A transformation partner with Together Women Rise, landesa champions and works to secure land rights for millions of the world's poorest, mostly rural Women and men to provide opportunity and promote social justice. Last mile 4d's mission is to ensure Women and girls have access to information about their health, safety, and freedom from gender-based violence, including female genital mutilation (fgm). Maya midwifery international's goal is to improve maternal child health outcomes by helping to prepare and sustain local midwives in their communities and helping them to have a voice in local and national policies which affect them. Speak up exists to transform the world on behalf of the poor. Their mission is to creat a new reality for girls in poverty. They work toward this goal through educational programs, support of safe homes and practical legal work. The mooncatcher project exists to optimize girls lives worldwide by removing barriers related to menstruation. The pangea network is dedicated to empowering Women and youth in kenya and the united states with the knowledge, skills and ongoing network of support in order to achieve their dreams and make positive, life-changing contributions in the communities where they live. Tomorrows Women trains young Women from palestine, israel and the united states to be strong, compassionate leaders who partner to resolve conflicts and inspire action that promotes equality, peace and justice for all. Too young to wed's mission is to empower girls and end child marriage globally. Village health partnership's mission is to prevent maternal and neonatal death in childbirth and to treat and prevent gynecologic complications of childbirth in rural ethiopia.
