Distance Learning Center was incorporated as a 501 C 3 non-profit corporation in 1990 with a mission to spearhead the StemPrep Project, which produces the next generation of minority researchers in STEM and medicine. Through monetary contributions, DLC supports the training activities of biomedical trainees during summer by providing a 10-year internship continuum to minority STEM students. Program areas at Distance Learning Center

I. The monetary contributions to the Distance Learning Center (dlc) allowed dlc to support the training activities of the biomedical trainees during the summer as follows: the dlc provides a 10-year internship continuum to minority stem students in order to significantly increase the number of researchers. Accepted trainees begin the 10-year continuum in the summer after the 7th grade. The interns/students work, live and learn at various universities in the us and canada, and at various governmental agencies such as us government laboratories, the nih and various pharmaceutical firms.
