Distinctly Fayetteville (FACVB)

In 2022, the facvb launched a stakeholder research study. This research initiative was intended to help shape fayetteville/cumberland county's image among regional and national travelers. The hope was to use the information gathered to help optimize the community assets and the fayetteville/cumberland county tourism brand. After copious amounts of research, stakeholder research study, and the recommendations from these agencies, the facvb began its rebranding process. The rebrand was launched in november 2023 and facvb is now doing business as Distinctly Fayetteville. After the rebrand the location on 245 person street and the website was updated with the new brand. In addition, based upon market research of surrounding successful dmos and encouragement from the tda, Distinctly Fayetteville created a $200,000 incentive program to attract and retain events in cumberland county. All interested organizations with an event or tournament can fill out our incentive program application and be potentially eligible for funding assistance. The application process allows our organization to examine their potential economic impact on the community and weigh requested funding against the return on investment to the county. Based upon predetermined metrics, such as hotel room production, the organization will then qualify for some or all requested funding. This is vital to help not only our community but also the growing small and mid-sized event market that may not otherwise have the budget to host a successful function.
