Program areas at Daughters of the American Revolution - District of Columbia State Society
Historic Preservation: DCDAR support the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) museum, library and historic buildings. It supports projects in the District of Columbia including preservation of the boundary stones, Capitol Hill Call Boxes, and gravesites including that of Abraham Baldwin. Education: DCDAR supports designated NSDAR school and education funds and engages in activities that support education and literacy in the District. This year DCDAR supplied books, awards, and refreshments for DC City Kids Wilderness Project field trips, supported scholarships at George Washington University, and supported DC City Kids teachers and events.Patriotism: DCDAR promotes citizenship and provided support for local veterans, wounded warriors, an active duty US Service men and women providing events for veterans at the Soldier and Airmens Home, paid for the installation of a marker to American Patriots for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, and provided support to the Marines at the Marine Barracks.
